Accessibility Statement

Accessibility is important to the KSA.  As we put this website together we aim to do the following:

  1. Avoid language that is in any way exclusive, offensive or derogatory to any group or individual

  2. Create pages that have a natural reading order and simple recognition for screen readers or other accessibility aids (let us know if we forget something!)

  3. Ensure all pages are easily printable.  Where documents are long, these will be saved as PDF files

  4. Key documents for distribution will generally be available as PDF.  Where possible we will include PDF accessibility tags in these documents.  PDF documents will be screened against the Adobe Accessibility Checker to improve readability by screen readers.

  5. Offer key documents as e-Books.  These have advanced accessibility components built in and enable anyone to open them on their own computer or Pocket PC (2002 or later).  The built-in reader will enable you to work through these documents via headphones or PC speaker.

  6. Pictures will have text-alternatives

  7. Typefaces will be fully scaleable within the browser limitations. The "Normal" text for pages will be Verdana size 3 (12pt), allowing the broadest range of scaling and clear readability.  Where pages are primarily intended to be printed, a better proportioned typeface (e.g. Roman) may be selected

  8. Text will be available as white-on-black, enabling individuals to over-ride via the accessibility options of their browser.

  9. We will TRY to keep the text simple to enable a wide range of people to read it and understand.

  10. Provide you with the opportunity to feedback comments on the site so we can make suitable modifications
